Greetings Strong North Tahoe Member,

Thanks to everyone who joined us on April 2 in Kings Beach. We talked about the idea of North Tahoe becoming a Town, the group exploring the idea, and how we can shape it ourselves.

What We Heard

  • Local governance matters. Our district covers 77% of Placer County’s land, but decision-making is shifting west as our voting percentage diminishes.
  • Good Numbers. Early fiscal numbers show North Tahoe generates more local revenue per person than Town of Truckee or City of South Lake Tahoe.
  • Change starts small. Teams are forming to focus on what we can do now—not later.
  • Get involved with exploring incorporation. Eastern Placer Future needs your help and input! Sign up / contact them here.

Tomorrow (Tuesday!): Street Painting Meetup

Tuesday, April 8 at 6pm
๐Ÿ“ Tree House Café
If you care about safer streets, show up. We’re organizing a street painting effort to make walking and biking safer—starting near Tahoe House Bakery and expanding from there. First meetup is tomorrow to get things moving. More details here »

Speak Up This Thursday

North Tahoe Supervisor Forum
๐Ÿ“… Thursday, April 10, 2025
๐Ÿ•• 6:00 PM
๐Ÿ“ Tahoe City PUD – 221 Fairway Dr, Tahoe City
View Event Page »
This is an open forum—not a MAC meeting—where you can raise issues directly with Supervisor Cindy Gustafson and hear updates from local agencies. It’s a chance to share concerns, ask questions, and be part of shaping what’s next for North Tahoe.

What’s Next: Walk the Town Together

Neighborhood Walk – Wednesday, May 7 @ 6:00 PM
๐Ÿ“ Start at Tahoe Backyard
๐Ÿป After-walk hangout at Jason’s
We’ve talked about housing, streets, and investment. Now we’ll take a walk through Kings Beach to see what’s actually happening on the ground—what feels safe, what doesn’t, and what could be better. More details here »
