Hi Strong North Tahoe Member,
Thanks to all who joined us at Monday night’s Strong North Tahoe meetup. Here’s a quick recap and what to do next:
๐ฃ️ 1. Make a Public Comment on 39°N (This Thursday)
We focused on how to make public comments that get heard. Patricia Orr, Kevin Drake and Maggie Steakley gave tips and examples, especially with the June 5 39°N project update meeting in mind.
โ
Action: Use this guide to prepare your comment
- Practice: Time yourself — you’ve got just 2 minutes
- Show Up: Even though Thursday’s meeting isn’t a decision meeting, it’s a big moment to be seen and heard. The developer, County staff, and media will all be there.
This is about letting them know: We’re paying attention. We care. We belong at the table.
๐Keep your eyes on your inbox tomorrow - members of the 39°N action group are preparing a detailed history of project!
๐ฅ 2. Join the 39 North Action Group
Lots of great questions came up — about the project's history, accountability, and how it’s moving forward without full environmental review. This led to launching the 39 North Action Group.
This group is for people who want to dig in:
๐ Bonus: Letter Campaigns Coming Soon
We’ll share a follow-up after Thursday’s meeting, including ways to keep pressure on using guided letter campaigns. But for now, focus on showing up Thursday.
Thanks again for being part of this growing community effort.
