If you have ever saved a stack of cardboard for your next Truckee, Incline, or Cabin Creek run, this one is for you.
|
Starting today, Kings Beach has a free bulk cardboard recycling bin at the Placer County-owned lot at North Lake Boulevard and Fox Street as part of a summer pilot program.
|
This is the kind of small, practical improvement Strong North Tahoe has been encouraging: public land meeting a real local need today, even while bigger plans take time. It is incremental, useful, and rooted in everyday life.

Now the community gets to help show it can work. Here are a few quick reminders:
|
- Clean cardboard only
Break boxes down, flatten them, and keep cardboard free of food, liquid, and other contamination.
- Not a general trash or recycling drop-off
Other recyclables and waste still need to go to the Materials Recovery Facility at 900 Cabin Creek Road.
- Friday FYI
The bin should be available daily, except for a brief period on Fridays while TTSD services it.
- Please keep the site clean
Do not leave trash, furniture, household items, or other materials in or around the recycling bin. This pilot only works if the site stays clean and the bin is used for cardboard only.

Keeping Kings Beach clean also means knowing who to contact when trash, abandoned items, or other materials are left where they do not belong.
