We’re all about small-scale, community-led projects. We’ve seen too many top-down decisions that don’t reflect our needs or our vision. It’s time for a change. From the Secline project mishap to the inspiring parking management meetings, we’re pushing for a future shaped by us, for us.
Incremental Redevelopment and Housing
Big projects often grab headlines, but it’s the smaller, sustainable changes that truly transform communities. We’ve already seen success in Kings Beach with projects like the downtown makeover and new housing developments. Now, we’re advocating for more of these achievable, community-supported projects that truly meet our needs.
Transparent Local Accounting
Your money should work for your community. We demand clear, accessible information on how funds are allocated and spent. From the Business Assessment District to everyday budget decisions, we’re advocating for financial transparency and community involvement in fiscal decisions.
Safe and Productive Streets
Streets should be for people, not just cars. We’re fighting for safer routes to school, pedestrian-friendly spaces, and parking reforms that encourage a lively, connected community. Whether it’s keeping sidewalks clear for our kids or ensuring our bike trails are plowed, we believe in streets that work for everyone.
Who We Are
Strong North Tahoe is a grassroots group of local volunteers committed to shaping a sustainable future for Kings Beach, Tahoe City and other North Tahoe communities. Founded in early 2024 by members of the North Tahoe Business Association’s Economic Vitality Committee, we emerged in response to a pressing need for community-led development and transparent planning. As residents invested in our community’s well-being, we advocate for development that benefits, includes, and respects the voices of our neighbors.
