Whoever designed the two roundabouts in KB are numb nuts! The idea of roundabouts (as originated in Europe) is to IMPROVE the flow of traffic, NOT slow it.
Pedestrian ways are supposed to either be underpasses or overpasses in conjunction with roundabouts. Along with bikeways!
Underpasses would be ideal in these key areas but may be a can of worms with water table?
Next solution- “timed” “pedestrian activated” “FLASHING” pedestrian signs.
It is extremely difficult for drivers to see pedestrians when sun is low in west!
Any accident statistics? Caltrans has to be convinced it’s a real problem!
