If we invested in solar crosswalk flashing signs we wouldn’t need to employee crosswalkers in the Summer.

Solar or any flashing lights (like the new one in Carnelian Bay) particularly at the Safeway and Tahoe Vista crossings where the speed limit is 35 mph. With minimal street lighting, faded road markings, and higher traffic speeds, pedestrian visibility is significantly reduced. Enhancing these crossings with bright, high-visibility signals would improve safety for both pedestrians and local (and visiting) drivers.
