June Meetup – How To Make Your Voice Matter (2 Days Before 39N Update)

UPDATE: There is now a “project update meeting” about 39° North scheduled just two days after this meetup — on  Thursday, June 5 from 6-9 PM at the Event Center in Kings Beach. 

If you want to have a voice in shaping Kings Beach’s future, now is the time to get ready. This meetup is your chance to get informed, practice speaking up, and connect with others who want to show up with purpose — not just sit through another presentation. We’ll use the 39N meeting as a real-life example of how to prepare for public meetings that matter.

Last month, neighbors walked Kings Beach together. We saw the good and the not-so-good — and used the Problem Reporting Tool to mark issues we want to fix.

This month, we’ll focus on something just as important:
What can you do — with just 30 minutes — that actually makes a difference?

🧰 What We’ll Do

We’ll go over a handful of leveraged actions — things that take limited time, but create real pressure or progress:

– How to kick off or join a letter-writing campaign using tools that already exist

– How to use a “speaker train” to show up at public meetings with support and purpose

– How to figure out who’s responsible for a problem, and how to make sure they hear about it

– What to do now, even if you’re new to this

– We’ll use the 39 North project as a live example to practice what we learn.
